Asking people to collaborate is easy. Getting them to break old habits and collaborate can often be hard. ‘Don’t Forget the Lyrics’ is a fun collaboration game to help teams consider how they communicate and work together in order to achieve a task. We can’t promise that their singing will improve.

Description

Don’t Forget the Lyrics - Collaboration Game Instructions

Explain to your group that they are going to play a game that focusses on collaboration.

Split your delegates into groups. Place the lyric sheets face down, ensuring you only have one version of each song. Ask each group to select a sheet to reveal their song.

Each team must learn the lyrics of their songs. As an additional challenge, no one person can recite back a full line of the song: e.g., for every line in the song, there must be at least two people reciting those lyrics back.

They have ten minutes to decide on their approach and practice. They will then recite their song back to the group. They can choose to read the song back, or to sing it – whatever works for them.

The trainer will judge which team wins.
