Trapped Lateral Thinking Instructions

Explain to the group that they are going to play a game that will help them with the lateral thinking

Explain that a man is trapped in a room which is completely bare except for a fire alarm. The fire alarm could have been triggered to draw attention to his plight; if it were not for the fact that the fire alarm’s cable is cut in two. Consequently, there are two lengths of fire alarm cable dangling from the ceiling. If he can bring the ends of the cables together, he could repair the connection and raise the alarm. Unfortunately, he cannot reach one cable, while still holding the other.

He only has the contents of his pocket at his disposal. The total of his pocket is a pen, an empty wallet, set of keys and a few coins.

How does he get out of the room?
