This introduction to coaching training toolkit provides practical learning experience for participants, equipping them with the tools and techniques that an effective coach needs.

Description

Aim:

Training Central’s introduction to coaching training develops participant’s core skills of coaching, focusing on practical coaching models and techniques to help them facilitate a positive and effective coaching session in a conducive environment.  Participants will explore different learning styles and identify ways of maximising the learning experience for others.

This toolkit provides practical learning experience for participants, equipping them with all the tools and techniques that an effective coach needs whilst affording them the opportunity to practice these in a safe learning environment.

Workshop Content:
  • Exploring different learning styles and understanding how best to support the development of all learning styles
  • Identifying the difference between training, coaching and mentoring
  • Understanding the qualities of an effective coach
  • Analysing current coaching skills and effectiveness
  • Enhancing questioning and listening skills
  • Understanding how to set SMART objectives, using ‘real’ working examples
  • Exploring coaching models and applying these to ‘real’ coaching examples
Learning Outcomes:

As an outcome of this development, delegates will be able to:

  • Understand different learning styles and how to develop learning plans for individuals
  • Critically assess participants’ own coaching skills against the qualities required to be an effective coach
  • Develop questioning and listening skills that enhance coaching conversations
  • Explore and establish how to apply SMART to the objective setting process
  • Understand how to use a coaching model with ‘real’ coaching examples
  • Develop practical coaching techniques, appropriate to the working environment
